A Unique Facility

  • The Brighton meets a critical need for clean, safe and affordable senior housing in Southeast Seattle with its 124 comfortable and accessible apartments.
  • The Brighton is a multi-generational facility that allows children to live with their grandparents and younger family members to care for aging parents. One resident in an apartment must be 55 years of age or older. "The mix infuses the building with vitality."
  • The Brighton is a mixed income facility for low and moderate income residents. Unlike most senior housing, we accept residents whose annual income reaches 80% of the King County median. Since we do not consider assets when determining income eligibility, many local seniors have been able to remain in their neighborhood without divesting assets.
  • The Brighton is located adjacent to the Southeast Seattle Senior Center. Lunches, field trips, exercise programs, educational and social activities and social services are right next door. SSSF helps pay the annual membership to the Senior Center for qualifying senior residents who are interested.
  • We accept senior immigrants who have been in the United States for less than three months and are in need of safe and affordable housing for their families.
  • Our operating budget is self-supporting. The ability to fund necessary building upgrades and enhancements from outside sources, such as grants, allows us to keep rents at below market rates.
  • Sound management and partnership with the local community encourages safe, clean and affordable housing.
